Don’t miss out on the New York Bondage Club’s special Memorial Day Fleet Week KINK party this Sunday, May 29. There will be lots of new visitors, as each year the Memorial Day Party has been packed.

Wear a full uniform, or leather or rubber, and get a discount on admission. Students can enter for $10 and anyone can get a 2016 NYBC membership for only $10 if you arrive before 8 pm. Don”t want to be a member? That’s ok, just come as a guest. Have a current Military ID, get in for only $5. Details here.

Highly recommended — ‘Mapplethorpe: Look at the Pictures’

I caught this new documentary recently down at Cinema Village on 12th Street, and I really liked it. It’s got some fantastic interviews with his family, his lovers and many others. They talk about New York’s gay leather/BDSM scene in the 1970s, the Mineshaft, Drummer magazine, and lots more. Here’s the trailer:

 

I have a much greater appreciation of Mapplethorpe as an artist, having seen this most excellent tribute. See this if you can.
